IFS/parts therapy

IFS for Individual Therapy

Sometimes the hardest relationship we have is
the one with ourselves.

Maybe one part of you wants to speak up while another worries about disappointing people. One part wants to move forward, while another keeps you stuck in fear, shame, or self-doubt. You may feel like you're constantly being pulled in different directions without understanding why. Internal Family Systems (IFS), often called "parts work," offers a different way of making sense of those experiences.

IFS is based on the idea that we all have different "parts" of ourselves. Some parts work hard to protect us by keeping us in control, striving for perfection, avoiding conflict, or staying busy. Other parts jump in when we feel overwhelmed, sometimes using extreme behaviors to help distract or numb our pain.

In IFS, we learn to understand each part with curiosity and compassion. As your parts begin to feel heard and understood, they no longer have to work so hard to protect you. Over time, people often find they feel calmer, more grounded, and more confident in responding to life's challenges.

My role is to guide that process at a pace that feels safe and respectful. We simply begin by noticing what's happening inside and getting to know your inner world.

Many people describe IFS as life-changing, as the approach that led them to stop fighting themselves. Instead of asking, "What's wrong with me?" they begin asking, "What is this part of me trying to protect? What does it need me to understand?"

And a new way of being unfolds.
